Jennifer Palacios

Jennifer Palacios Associate Director

Dr. Jennifer Palacios holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Educational Psychology, along with an Education Specialist degree, an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a B.S. in Counseling Psychology. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to understanding how students learn and thrive in intellectually rich environments. She was drawn to AoPS for its uniquely rigorous and thoughtfully crafted language arts curriculum. She values how AoPS challenges students to think critically and independently while also fostering creativity and confidence. The curriculum’s blend of structure and open-ended inquiry mirrors her own educational philosophy. Jennifer’s teaching style is grounded in the principles of constructivism, with a strong emphasis on the Zone of Proximal Development. She believes that students learn best when they are supported just beyond their comfort zones and when they are active participants in their own discovery process. In her classroom, learning is not simply about reaching the “right” answer, but about developing the capacity to reason, question, and articulate ideas clearly and confidently.

Campbell Whalen

Campbell Whalen

Campbell graduated from Dartmouth College in 2022 with a BA in Quantitative Social Science with an Education focus, blending her love of statistics with her passion for education solutions at scale. She joined AoPS as a member of the headquarters staff on the marketing team in 2024, focusing on growing AoPS's influence. AoPS's mission to raise the ceiling for young learners resonates deeply with Campbell, as she believes every student deserves the chance to discover their potential. Working at HQ has shown her how AoPS transforms students' relationships with math, and she's eager to witness these breakthroughs firsthand in the classroom. What excites Campbell most about teaching at AoPS is the opportunity to lean into the organization's unique pedagogical approach: asking leading questions and helping students think creatively about complex problems. In the classroom, she draws on both her quantitative background and her experience understanding what resonates with families to create an engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to explore and discover solutions.

Our family regularly talks about AoPS. We try to think about how our life would be different without you all. What if my daughter hadn't learned to love math? What if she never experienced being pushed to her limits? Overcoming failure? She wouldn't be who she is. And she is AWESOME! A very proud mom here. We are so fortunate that we found AoPS Academy. I credit AoPS for much of her confidence.
